Arkansas Sweeps SEC Cross Country Championships - 10/27/07

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Arkansas continued its distance-running dynasty by capturing both the men's and women's team titles at the 2007 Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted on Saturday by the University of Kentucky at the Kentucky Horse Park.

The No. 8 Arkansas men placed four runners in the individual top 10 and each of its five scorers in the top 11 to claim its 35th consecutive conference title and its 19th SEC team crown in a row. Florida finished second with Alabama third and Tennessee fourth.

Alabama's Emmanuel Bor, the two-time reigning SEC Male Runner of the Week, captured the 8K individual title in a time of 23:50.45, while Florida's Jeremy Criscione was second with a mark of 23:56.28.

The No. 13 Lady ‘Backs won their league-leading 12th SEC title and their third consecutive championship with four runners finishing in the top 10. Tennessee finished second, while Georgia and Florida concluded the race in third and fourth place, respectively.

Georgia's Sarah Madebach, the reigning SEC Female Runner of the Week, won the individual women's 6K title, concluding the race in 20:49.11, while Arkansas' Christine Kalmer was four seconds behind in second place, finishing in a time of 20:53.02.
